Mothers’ Day, also known as Mothering Sunday, falls on 30 March this year in the UK. Celebrated since the Middle Ages, the original purpose of the day was to enable people who’d had to move away from their hometown to return and visit their mother church, as well as their family. The date moves around, as it falls on the fourth Sunday in Lent which is also variable. The traditional Mothers’ Day gift is flowers, usually daffodils or other spring blooms. This year, though, why not go a bit more creative with our bright, modern home decor ideas?
